On June 13th, 2015 Fort Wainwright celebrated three major events and times in American history, the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the 75th anniversary of Ladd Army Airfield and the 240th birthday of the U.S. Army. The day was filled with fun things for the whole family and opened to the residents from the local communities. A parade presented the opportunity for Vietnam veterans to assemble in front of spectators who rose to their feet to give much needed respect and honor to the soldiers that put their lives in danger 50 years ago.
