Some members of the Philippine Congress exert political pressure on Filipino leaders to withdraw the Philippine Civic Action Group (PHILCAG), citing its cost, especially after U.S. officials decline to fully finance the group. The final elements of PHILCAG leave Vietnam on February 15. About 130 Filipino doctors, dentists, and technicians remain in Vietnam as part of the Philippine Contingent, Vietnam. By this date, nine Filipinos have died in action in the war.1
