Thailand activates the Royal Thai Military Assistance Group, Vietnam. The Royal Thai Air Force contingent already in South Vietnam comes under the new group’s command. The Thai forces in South Vietnam eventually consist of Royal Thai Air Force, Navy, and Army groups. The largest contingent is from the Army. Later in the year MACV places them under the operational control of the 9th U.S. Infantry Division.1
