12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
The 6994th Security Squadron held its 2025 Reunion at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, OH, from 15-17 August. Eighty-six participants, including 39 Vietnam War veterans, attended. The veterans operated and maintained the equipment for the EC-47 Airborne Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) program during the Vietnam War. With assistance and guidance from the EC-47 History Site CPP chairman, 6994th reunion chairman Rick Yeh developed the program to honor five squadron members with the 50th Vietnam War Commemorative lapel pin and certificate of appreciation. During the pin presentation ceremony, Rick Yeh and squadron veteran Bill Francis joined the EC-47 History Site website co-manager Joe Martin to present the lapel pin, certificate of appreciation and an EC-47 challenge coin. Another Vietnam War veteran was also presented the lapel pin and certificate of appreciation. Mrs. Shirley Hull, surviving spouse of 6994th veteran Bob Hull was presented the Vietnam War Surviving Spouse Lapel pin and certificate. Bob and Shirley had supported the planning and conduct of the 6994th Security Squadron reunion for many years previously. This was fitting recognition for their service. We received excellent program support from the EC-47 History Site CPP and the ceremony was received and appreciated by everyone in attendance. Photos are attached.
During the reunion, attendees enjoyed playing golf, a tour of the National Military Museum in Columbus, OH, and a pizza party and a free manager’s happy hour nightly in the hotel lobby. The event ended with the reading of a tribute to the unit and the U.S. Air Force 360th, 361st, and 362nd Tactical Electronic Warfare units that was presented and read into the National Record by Texas Congressman August Pfluger on August 12, 2025.
