Event Description – Veterans Day at Fulton County (16 July)
The Veterans Day at the Fulton County Fair celebration is dedicated to honoring all who have served, with a special focus on recognizing the contributions of every era. With over 300 anticipated participants—including at least 200 Vietnam-era Veterans—this event promises a day of remembrance, appreciation, and community fellowship.
Recognition Ceremony - During the formal recognition, Strawberry River Chapter, NSDAR, will honor all Veterans with a moment of standing tribute. In a heartfelt ceremony led by Beta Club Youth, each Vietnam-era Veteran will be presented with a lapel pin and a bumper magnet as tokens of our gratitude. Spouses and family members in attendance will receive a tin pin and bumper magnet to acknowledge their vital support. In addition, we will set up a static booth displaying the commemoration flag and official proclamations will further highlight the significance of the day. We are also including information about the Library of Congress Veterans History Project and the Military Women's Memorial.
Luncheon, Fellowship, and Community Outreach - Following the recognition, guests are invited to join us for a luncheon featuring dessert and coffee, fostering fellowship and community spirit. An Arkansas VA representative will be on hand to discuss particulars for rural Veterans, offering insights and support tailored to their unique needs. To add a festive touch, the local VFW Auxiliary will provide Bingo and door prizes.
Extended Outreach by Strawberry River Chapter - In addition to the on-site celebration, Strawberry River Chapter will honor Vietnam Veterans and their families throughout our daily community interactions. As we did last year, whether encountered in shopping centers, doctors’ offices, or other community settings, our team will personally thank Veterans for their service and present the provided materials ensuring a broader reach in an effort to ensure they are recognized.
