I continue to present to Vietnam veterans lapel pins and thank them for their service wherever I meet them. On November 2, 2022, I will make presentations at a Republican Women's luncheon. They are honoring Vietnam veterans & have invited me to do the honors. I always tell the recipients about the DOD Commemorative. You have allowed our Veterans to feel the warmth & gratitude of America.

THE VIETNAM VETERANS WILL EACH RECEIVE A QUILT OF VALOR IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF THEIR MILITARY SERVICE. WE HOST THIS EVENT EVERY TWO MONTHS AS WE HAVE REQUESTS AND QOVS READY. AT THE TIME OF THE QOV PRESENTATION, WE HAVE BEEN PRESENTING THE VIETNAM LAPEL PIN, HOWEVER I HAVE USED MY FIRST 50 AND NEED TO REPLACE MY STOCK.

Our members would like to present lapel pins to previously unrecognized Vietnam era veterans on an impromptu basis. We would like 20 more pins so that we have enough to provide one or two to every member who would like to do this.

When a Vietnam Veteran is awarded a Quilt of Valor, a Lapel Pin is also presented to the veteran. I anticipate hosting several ceremonies between now and the end of the Commemorative. I am nearly out pins, proclamations, and Fact Sheets and would appreciate whatever you can provide.

The Honor Flight Veteran receives their pin and Welcome Home packet at the dinner on Friday evening so they can wear their pin during the weekend.

Old Dominion Honor Flight Mission 8 will visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Marine Corps Museum. Vietnam Veterans will be honored from all day long, from the departure ceremony to fantastic return ceremonies.

Honor Flight trips to Washington, DC.

Twice annually since 2011, veterans and active-duty soldiers gather at Northeastern High School for the Honor Bus trip. Students and adult volunteers escort our local veterans on an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to visit the various memorials and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, we will honor our Vietnam vets with a special ceremony of thanks at our post-trip banquet.

This annual event offers retirees and their spouses information/updates regarding some of their priority interests i.e. healthcare, veteran legislation, legal issues, etc. The Northern California Coast Guard Retiree Council (NCRRC) is the only such organization of its kind in California and typically hosts 250-300 attendees at this annual event. The event features seminars, retiree/dependent ID card services, and information/resource tables covering the spectrum of military retiree programs, benefits, and services.

VIETNAM VETERANS WILL BE HONORED THROUGH OUT THE DAY INCLUDING A HOMECOMING AT THE DAYTON AIRPORT BY 2000 INDIVIDUALS

We are planning a 50th anniversary end of Viet Nam conflict and recognizing our Viet Nam vets and their families. We have 137 Viet Nam era veterans as part of our membership and many more in the community. We are planning a 3 hour event to honor them. Additional Viet Nam vets are more than welcome to attend and receive pins.

Windsor Garden Quilts of Valor will have multiple presentation this year and will award each Vietnam Veteran with a quilt and the commemorative lapel pin

There will be a free lunch for Vietnam Veterans and their families!
