Our office sees over 1000 Veterans a year. Currently approximately 1/3 of the Veterans we see are from the Vietnam Era. When we help a Vietnam Era Veteran, we determine if she/he has already been presented the commemorative pin, and we present one if they have not already received it. We personally thank the Veteran for her/his service and sacrifice to our country. Bumper stickers are the most popular item we make available to Vietnam Veterans, as many of them have already received the Pins. We also hold outreach events at local VFW and American Legion Halls where we present pins, and also at Health Fair events with the Veteran Health Administration.

The Museum of Flight hosts multiple events each year focused on veterans. These events range in attendance from 100-300 individuals. The list includes Vietnam War Veterans Day in March, Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day in May, an annual Tribute Plaque Ceremony for our own Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park in May, and Veterans Day in November. In addition, the Museum's Public Program team facilitate several military-themed programs throughout the year. At each of these programs, Vietnam veterans are invited to stand and be recognized and presented with lapel pins if they have not already received them. In addition, our Docent Corps made up of more than 250 volunteers, more than a dozen of which are Vietnam Veterans, presents lapel pins to veterans on a daily basis as part of their regular duties. One of these Docents also represents the Museum of Flight's Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park, Project Recover, and Puget Sound Honor Flight at annual state conventions. Several of these Docents, and members of our regular staff also keep a supply of pins and materials with them for presenting to veterans we encounter in public settings such as grocery and hardware stores.

Ongoing (scheduled monthly) visits to various Sumner County Tennessee assisted living centers to spend time with veterans in residence - many of whom are Vietnam/Vietnam-Era veterans. We are also honoring all Surviving Spouses in residence during these visits and presenting them with the Blue Star pin. A main feature of each visit is the time spent in converssation about military service, family, friends, current events, etc. At our own expense, we are providing each veteran with a ball cap with the emblem(s) of his/her branch of service. Coffee and donuts are provided by the hosting facilty, and each facility manager appreciates and supports our visits

Increasing numbers of Vietnam Veterans are living with serious illness and enrolling in hospice care. As a Level 5 We Honor Veteran partner and as a 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemorative Partner, we aim to honor every Veteran under our care with an individualized pinning ceremony. The interdisciplinary team gathers with the Veteran patients and their family and friends to provide special recognition which includes receiving a flag pin (all Veterans), the Vietnam War Commemorative Lapel Pin and Presidential Proclamations (Vietnam Veterans), a Certificate, a homemade blanket, and a special acknowledgement card. A special reading is facilitated by the interdisciplinary team and the patient is thanked for their service, on behalf of a grateful nation. This ceremony and recognition provides closure for the Veteran and their family during this challenging time at end of life. Last year we served 387 Veteran patients of which 102 served in the Vietnam War. We expect the number of Vietnam War Veterans served to increase each year.

This is not one event - I am the Veteran Coordinator for Infinity Hospice Care, Reno, NV. I am partnered with the We Honor Veterans program with the DOD and my responsibilities are to honor veterans that come onto our service at their end of life. I complete a WHV pinning ceremony for the veteran an their family which includes veterans from WWII to Afghanistan. Have a lot of Vietnam veterans coming onto service now and that means honoring them with the Vietnam War lapel pin. I would like to request 100 lapel pins to last my fiscal year.

It is my hope to visit all nursing homes in the Fort Collins, CO area over the next couple of years and have a ceremony at each one honoring Vietnam Veterans who may not be able to get out to other ceremonies. These hero's deserve to be thanked before its too late. We have a dedicated group of volunteers at the Elks who would make sure each ceremony would be special. I don't know how many there are out there.With over 30 assisted living facilities in the area, I would like to order 200 pins if available. This would be an ongoing project. It would be an honor to do this. I am filling in blanks with approximate numbers. I honestly don't know how many Vietnam/Vietnam era Veterans are living in assisted living. I need to make sure I can get the items first then dive in. Thank you.

We will have partner groups to help including the American Heritage Girls Troop 0314 who will serve the veterans and their families. Typically we have the DAR Chapters to help as well with desserts. The Goodfellow Air Force Base EC-47 Weyandt-Eddy Memorial Plaza was dedicated on Vietnam Veterans Day in 2022. As last year (2023) we are planning a special ceremony to honor and welcome home all Vietnam veterans with special attention given to deceased Vietnam veterans surviving spouses. Another 300 newly engraved pavers will be dedicated to veterans from all services and all wars. Plans are made for additional activities following the dedication/memorialization ceremony, including an on-site reception to include a "Gathering at the Goon" photo opportunity, and possible windshield tours of the base. An evening no-host dinner at a local restaurant is also being planned. Former EC-47 aircrew and support personnel have shown high interest in attending this event. We extend a special invitation and welcome to all deceased Vietnam veteran surviving spouses. The general public is also invited limited to space and seating available. Vietnam War Commemoration veteran and eligible family member lapel pins and certificates will be presented during the reception. Our Vietnam Veteran Breakfast and Pinning Ceremony on March 28th will bring local communities together to celebrate National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Due to Good Friday, being on 3/29 this year, volunteers and veterans group choose to hold this special event the day prior. Vietnam Veterans, families and the public will enjoy breakfast together, and then segue into the pinning ceremony as scripted by the 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commission. Commemoration pins and certificates will be presented in alphabetical order along with offering our sincere appreciation for each Vietnam Veteran’s service and sacrifice to our great nation. Photographs will be taken individually of each honoree along with group photos which will be shared with the press and posted to social media. Local newspapers have printed articles. We are hopeful they will write a story after the event by talking to our honorees. TV stations have been contacted to cover the ceremony as well. Our committee encourages local sponsors and supporters to join in the ceremony by helping pin honorees. The program will be emceed by a local celebrity. The ceremony will also include displayed flags, patriotic songs, and greetings from local and state dignitaries. Special chocolate party favors will be given to each guest and veteran to express a yummy thank you. A small POWMIA table will be displayed for all to see and the tribute poem will be recited by local Naugatuck American Legion Post 17, CT Chaplain. The event will also provide display tables to select area veteran groups to offer information and support to local veterans. Everything from free sandwich coupons from Mission BBQ to information about participation in 2025 as the Vietnam Traveling Wall is Wolcott. A few sponsored gift baskets will be raffled off during the breakfast along with chances for our honorees to win special door prizes. We are looking to host about 150 veterans and one guest for a pinning ceremony at Gillette Stadium. They will be pinned during the ceremony and will then be invited to lunch. The veterans will be pinned by Josh Kraft, Andre Tippett, Jonathan Cross and potentially Robert Kraft and Patriots players.

The Michigan Vetrans Affairs Agency(MVAA) plans to host three pinning ceremonies around Michigan (Grand Rapids, Jackson, and Detroit) to honor Vietnam Veterans for thier service. The ceremony will likely include speaker, a color guard, and pinning by the MVAA Director. Veterans and thier families are invited and welcome partake in light refreshments.

We will be conducting approximately 60 events: 8 Major airshow, 10 medium airshows, 20 ride events and whole bunch of small/local flyovers, static displays. We will be ALL over the Nation at various times and dates beginning with Atlanta NASCAR Ambetter 400 in February through Veterans Day in mid November. We will be passing out these awards to numerous Veteran events. That's why we are asking for such large amount so we can then disperse them to our other chapters as well. We've been doing this now for about 5 years and will continue to do so into the future.

Wreaths Across America has been holding a variety of events where Vietnam Veterans are presented with the 50th Anniversary Comemorative Pin and Presidential Proclamations. We have exhausted our current supply. Last night, 20 March, we presented 21 Vietnam Veterans with pins and proclamations. We anticipate more ceremonies throughout the year.

Old Glory Chapter TNDAR will participate in Franklin on the 4th in downtown Franklin, TN. Members of Old Glory will participate in the reading of the Declaration of Independence. During the ceremony they will invite Vietnam veterans who have not been pinned to come forward to receive their pin and a certificate from Old Glory.

A Welcome Home Veterans event was held by Main Line Health Hospice in collaboration with Riddle Village LifeCare Retirement community. The event was open to all Veterans in the community. The keynote speaker was Ralph Galati, Vietnam Veteran and former POW. All Veterans were recognized with a special war era pin. Vietnam Veterans were presented with the Vietnam War Commemorative Pin and 3 Presidential Proclamations. Lunch was served. The ceremony included playing of Taps, the Missing Man ceremony, the National Anthem, and the Military Medley. Materials and support are not needed as we have unused materials from prior events.

Veteran to Veteran Cafes were held on several dates at different senior living facilities in the Southeastern PA region. These events provide an opportunity for Veterans to gather and share stories while also being recognized and honored for their service. Each event includes food and beverage, playing of taps and the National Anthem, a recognition speech, and a pinning ceremony. Vietnam Veterans are provided with the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Pin and Presidential Proclamations. Additional materials are not needed as we have unused materials from other events.

The event for the display was well received. The library staff was happy to give us the space and assist in gathering books to include in the display. The display is in the main part of the library where many people walk by and see it. Personal items from veterans, or their spouses were also displayed. They were happy to share their items with us for this display. We hope to do this again next year.

This was so successful that we plan to do it again this year. Veterans were very appreciative. We also gave away pins at our Wreaths Across America wreath-laying event, and when the Martha Ibbetson chapter members went out to lunch afterward, we also gave a pin to a veteran in the restaurant (he was wearing a Vietnam veteran hat).
