Nine Veterans will be presented with lapel pins and certificates and Ten Surviving Spouses will be presented lapel pins, personalized certificates and a single long stemmed red rose in a lovely, dignified military ceremony in the base Chapel. Following the ceremony, a buffet picnic-style lunch will be prepared by the Deli Department of the Naval Station Rota Commissary Store and served by the volunteers from the United Services Organization (USO) to all attendees in the Fellowship Hall. The framed Commemorative Committee Vietnam War History panels will displayed on tables in the back of the room with the special Commemorative Flag hanging on the wall behind. This allows attendees the opportunity to know more about the war's timeline and various units' participation.

All Vietnam Veterans who are serviced by our Hospice program will be honored, welcomed home, and thanked for their service during a pinning ceremony in the privacy of their own home. Family and friends are invited to attend with the hospice interdisciplinary team also in attendance. A Welcome Home Reading/ Prayer (dependent on patient values and preferences) is read, and the Vietnam Veteran pin and flag pin will be presented, in additional to a certificate, acknowledgement card, and hand made blanket.

On a monthly basis, the Mary Draper Chapter, NSDAR will present a lapel pin, and a commemorative quilt to one or more Vietnam Veterans at our regular meeting. Quilt of Valor Presentation is held for all veterans touched by war. When Vietnam Veterans are present, they are presented with the commemorative pin per the Quilt of Valor Foundations instructions. The ceremony is held approximately a dozen times a year, The number of Vietnam Veterans varies. After the presentation ceremony, refreshments are provided. It lasts approximately an hour.

The events will be a number of small gatherings of family and friends of veterans who have been nominated for a Quilt of Valor. The members of the Quilts of Valor Foundation - Palm Beach Patriotic Quilters (a Tequesta-based group of quilters) will present a handmade quilt along with a Vietnam War Veteran's Lapel Pin to those nominees who are eligible for the pin. This order is to cover multiple events taking place from March - November 2023: Vietnam Veterans Day - Veterans Day. The Museum staff and veteran volunteers facilitate or attend multiple veteran-focused events throughout the year. Tables are set up at each of these events or a portion of the events are dedicated to presenting lapel pins to veterans. Attendance will vary across all events from 30 to several hundred Vietnam veterans and their family members. We are down to our last 50 lapel pins and brochures and want to be sure we have enough for the rest of the year. Our Docents also present lapel pins to Vietnam veterans on an individual basis that visit the Museum throughout the year.

Our office sees over 1000 Veterans a year. Currently approximately 1/3 of the Veterans we see are from the Vietnam Era. When we help a Vietnam Era Veteran, we determine if she/he has already been presented the commemorative pin, and we present one if they have not already received it. We personally thank the Veteran for her/his service and sacrifice to our country. Bumper stickers are the most popular item we make available to Vietnam Veterans, as many of them have already received the Pins. We also hold outreach events at local VFW and American Legion Halls where we present pins, and also at Health Fair events with the Veteran Health Administration.

At each ceremony the Veterans’ bio is read and he or she is presented with their special Quilt of Valor and their certificate of appreciation is read and presented to each Veteran or active service member. Pinning ceremony for completion of a successful PT program, to Vietnam Veterans, in addition to Veterans in our community, where we work or live. We also like to visit "The Wall That Heals" and in the past, we went to the event, in Garner, NC, and we pinned over 75 Vietnam Veterans, so when it comes, annually, we like to be able to have enough information to attend and hand out.

A nationwide motorcycle event with memorial sites in each state. 1,200 riders will give pins to Vietnam-era veterans as they meet them at the over 3,000 locations, many of them Vietnam War memorials. We will also have Facebook recognitions of Vietnam-era veterans who post on the Tour of Hon or FB group wall. We will mail a poster, service badge poster and pin to every Vietnam vet that lists their branch of service, years of deployment, batallion and rank. The request for the above information in Item 11 above has already started on the Tour of Honor FB group, so the soner we get the materials, the better.

I do have a question regarding how many pins to order. They say they have about 100 members, however, Guy Miller, their secretary, says that maybe about 50 of them are active members. My question is, how many pins do I order? Sept 22, 2023 Meet and Greet held at Plainfield High School starting at 1630. There will be 86 veterans and 86 guardians. Each veteran is allowed one family member or friend. Before the dinner is started each veteran will receive their ditty bag. It contains a tan shirt for the veteran and a blue shirt for the guardian. Boarding passes for both individuals are included along with info on the next day schedule of events. The veterans will be given their Vietnam lapel pin before dinner. Sept 23,2023 Veterans and guardians arrive at Plainfield High School at 0430. Breakfast is served. By 0530 they are going to the Indianapolis Airport to fly to Regan International Airport. The trip starts with a visit to the WWII memorial, then onto Lincoln, Korea and "The Wall". Next is Arlington Cemetery with the changing of the guard. Last stop is the Air Force Memorial. Fly back to Plainfield High School where the veterans are individually introduced to the crowd waiting for them in the auditorium. A very long day, but a happy one!

Ongoing (scheduled monthly) visits to various Sumner County Tennessee assisted living centers to spend time with veterans in residence - many of whom are Vietnam/Vietnam-Era veterans. We are also honoring all Surviving Spouses in residence during these visits and presenting them with the Blue Star pin. A main feature of each visit is the time spent in converssation about military service, family, friends, current events, etc. At our own expense, we are providing each veteran with a ball cap with the emblem(s) of his/her branch of service. Coffee and donuts are provided by the hosting facilty, and each facility manager appreciates and supports our visits

The John Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution wish to display information and have items for the public and the veterans to honor the veterans service. We have large poster boards with pictures and facts for display. We have an Agent Orange quilt for display and we have information from the Veterans Crisis Hotline. Veterans will be honored with the pinning and tribute to their service. A large Welcome Home sign will be displayed.

Increasing numbers of Vietnam Veterans are living with serious illness and enrolling in hospice care. As a Level 5 We Honor Veteran partner and as a 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemorative Partner, we aim to honor every Veteran under our care with an individualized pinning ceremony. The interdisciplinary team gathers with the Veteran patients and their family and friends to provide special recognition which includes receiving a flag pin (all Veterans), the Vietnam War Commemorative Lapel Pin and Presidential Proclamations (Vietnam Veterans), a Certificate, a homemade blanket, and a special acknowledgement card. A special reading is facilitated by the interdisciplinary team and the patient is thanked for their service, on behalf of a grateful nation. This ceremony and recognition provides closure for the Veteran and their family during this challenging time at end of life. Last year we served 387 Veteran patients of which 102 served in the Vietnam War. We expect the number of Vietnam War Veterans served to increase each year.

While attending the Jackson County Fair on Veterans get in free day, I met a couple of Navy veterans. In talking, one of them said he had never received his 50 Year Anniversary Pin. We were close to my car where I keep extra materials in my trunk. I presented him his pin in the fair parking lot.

The Military Women's Memorial is open to the public each day of the week and routinely hosts large Honor Flights that are on average 200 people with 100 or so servicemembers that have served in Vietnam and during Vietnam. We host 5 to 10 flights a week.

This is not one event - I am the Veteran Coordinator for Infinity Hospice Care, Reno, NV. I am partnered with the We Honor Veterans program with the DOD and my responsibilities are to honor veterans that come onto our service at their end of life. I complete a WHV pinning ceremony for the veteran an their family which includes veterans from WWII to Afghanistan. Have a lot of Vietnam veterans coming onto service now and that means honoring them with the Vietnam War lapel pin. I would like to request 100 lapel pins to last my fiscal year.

The Fort Cooper Chapter, NSDAR will have members out at Ernie Mills Park for the scheduled three days to assist "The Vietnam Veterans Gathering" Organization that will be bringing in the Vietnam Traveling Wall to Citrus County to look up names in the Books to locate where the visitors friend, loved one, relative, etc. are on the wall. Assist in showing them where to find the name on the wall. Vietnam Veterans will be honored by showing that the location of the wall is on hallowed ground, honoring all who made the ultimate sacrifice.
