Nine Veterans will be presented with lapel pins and certificates and Ten Surviving Spouses will be presented lapel pins, personalized certificates and a single long stemmed red rose in a lovely, dignified military ceremony in the base Chapel. Following the ceremony, a buffet picnic-style lunch will be prepared by the Deli Department of the Naval Station Rota Commissary Store and served by the volunteers from the United Services Organization (USO) to all attendees in the Fellowship Hall. The framed Commemorative Committee Vietnam War History panels will displayed on tables in the back of the room with the special Commemorative Flag hanging on the wall behind. This allows attendees the opportunity to know more about the war's timeline and various units' participation.

All Vietnam Veterans who are serviced by our Hospice program will be honored, welcomed home, and thanked for their service during a pinning ceremony in the privacy of their own home. Family and friends are invited to attend with the hospice interdisciplinary team also in attendance. A Welcome Home Reading/ Prayer (dependent on patient values and preferences) is read, and the Vietnam Veteran pin and flag pin will be presented, in additional to a certificate, acknowledgement card, and hand made blanket.

Quilt of Valor Presentation is held for all veterans touched by war. When Vietnam Veterans are present, they are presented with the commemorative pin per the Quilt of Valor Foundations instructions. The members of the Quilts of Valor Foundation - Palm Beach Patriotic Quilters (a Tequesta-based group of quilters) will present a handmade quilt along with a Vietnam War Veteran's Lapel Pin to those nominees who are eligible for the pin. This order is to cover multiple events taking place from March - November 2023: Vietnam Veterans Day - Veterans Day. The Museum staff and veteran volunteers facilitate or attend multiple veteran-focused events throughout the year. Tables are set up at each of these events or a portion of the events are dedicated to presenting lapel pins to veterans. Attendance will vary across all events from 30 to several hundred Vietnam veterans and their family members. We are down to our last 50 lapel pins and brochures and want to be sure we have enough for the rest of the year. The Open Doors Exhibit is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of human will, it is also a celebration of that second chance at freedom. As Cdr. Paul Galanti, USN (Ret.) and former Vietnam POW said, "There's no such thing as a bad day when you have a doorknob on the inside of the door," referencing the door in his cell during his time in captivity. The exhibit is produced by portrait photographer Jamie Howren and author Taylory Baldwin Kiland. Taylor Kiland and Jamie Howren spent eighteen months traveling across the nation to interview and photograph the Vietnam War POWs featured in the exhibit in their homes and offices. Kiland and Howren both share the conviction that this group of men has stories to tell and lessons to teach about inner will, the strength of the human spirit, and how ordinary people can endure extraordinary circumstances. Intimate portraits and profiles of 30 former Vietnam POWs are featured in the exhibit. The exhibit is a tribute to Vietnam POWs and MIA and their families for the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

Our office sees over 1000 Veterans a year. Currently approximately 1/3 of the Veterans we see are from the Vietnam Era. When we help a Vietnam Era Veteran, we determine if she/he has already been presented the commemorative pin, and we present one if they have not already received it. We personally thank the Veteran for her/his service and sacrifice to our country. Bumper stickers are the most popular item we make available to Vietnam Veterans, as many of them have already received the Pins. We also hold outreach events at local VFW and American Legion Halls where we present pins, and also at Health Fair events with the Veteran Health Administration.

A nationwide motorcycle event with memorial sites in each state. 1,200 riders will give pins to Vietnam-era veterans as they meet them at the over 3,000 locations, many of them Vietnam War memorials. We will also have Facebook recognitions of Vietnam-era veterans who post on the Tour of Hon or FB group wall. We will mail a poster, service badge poster and pin to every Vietnam vet that lists their branch of service, years of deployment, batallion and rank. The request for the above information in Item 11 above has already started on the Tour of Honor FB group, so the soner we get the materials, the better.

Celebration of Casper Hepler’s arrival in the Colonies 275 years ago.Casper and his sons supported the American Revolution and ever since that time, his descendants fought in ever war, many in the Vietnam War. They are true American Patriots. August 12, formal dinner at Kutztown University, Hepler family involved in the founding of university. As part of that program, veterans will be awarded a flag and pin. August 13 Church services at the church built by Casper Hepler After the service, all gather at the cemetery. There is always a gun salute to honor all who have served their country. Flags and pins will be given to those who were unable to attend the formal dinner. August 14 Busses will take attendees to visit churches, schools and homes belonging to ancestors. The theme of the 3 day celebration is to honor our veterans. A fundraiser for homeless veterans in a program called Community Hope, on the Lyons Veterans Hospital Campus in Lyons, NJ

The Musiem had a large exhibit on Vietnam and China Beach. Becouse of the Exhibit being such a huge success Many Veterans and families are asking about it and we still pass out pins. We only have 5 left and would liek to have more. 100 of teh lapel pins and 100 of the Blue Star spouse pin.

I am Chair of the state for VWC. I provide material to chapters throughout the state. Up coming event is our state event - Fall Fun Fair where I make available baggies of pins for members to keep in their car for 'PINNING WHERE YOU FIND THEM' state program. also - we will be pinning veterans at the mobile Vietnam Wall memorial at three locations in Ohio. I need to keep stock available. I made a large request through my last request but 100 lapel pins did not come and also pin fact sheet/description sheets were missing. I was told that this request is coming to me but this was a couple of months ago. So - requesting extra due to missing stock and more events that are being held.

Ongoing (scheduled monthly) visits to various Sumner County Tennessee assisted living centers to spend time with veterans in residence - many of whom are Vietnam/Vietnam-Era veterans. We are also honoring all Surviving Spouses in residence during these visits and presenting them with the Blue Star pin. A main feature of each visit is the time spent in converssation about military service, family, friends, current events, etc. At our own expense, we are providing each veteran with a ball cap with the emblem(s) of his/her branch of service. Coffee and donuts are provided by the hosting facilty, and each facility manager appreciates and supports our visits

While attending the Jackson County Fair on Veterans get in free day, I met a couple of Navy veterans. In talking, one of them said he had never received his 50 Year Anniversary Pin. We were close to my car where I keep extra materials in my trunk. I presented him his pin in the fair parking lot.

The “Welcome Home Heroes” hospitality night was an amazing event!!! Each Purple Heart recipient who served in Vietnam (and 3 widows) were treated to a patriotic welcome home with food, beverages, cupcakes, and music. EachVeteran was asked to form a line and a family member, or Purple Heart Auxikiary member pinned him or her. Each one shred where they served and shared a few words. It was heartwarming and wonderful! One of the best experiences was when two veterans reconnected 53 years after they served together. They had no idea they were in the same room. It was beyond our expectations. Just absolutely fabulous. We did have remaining pins that were sent to our Vietnam Veterans joining via Zoom. Some attendees brought a few back to personally present them to their friends in the nursing homes or war homes. As the organizers, Daughter, I was extremely honored
