An all day event to honor and welcome home Vietnam Veterans in the community. The morning program will be honoring those Nevadans who died during the Vietnam War with the reading of their names by local mayors and VVA members, a static display of Vietnam War memorabilia including a Huey helicopter, vehicles and photos. Veteran groups from the community as well as VSOs and mental health professionals from the VA will be present. We are anticipating 500 attendees. A lunch will be provided and then the afternoon presentation will be open to all veterans and active military. Governor Sandoval (previous governor 2018) will be guest speaker. We are anticipating 500 attendees for the afternoon event as well. Because this will be open to the public and tickets will go on sale the end of Februrary, I do not have an exact number of Vietnam Veterans or their surviving spouse at this time so I am projecting an estimate. The following day we are offering HUEY helicopter rides for the veterans.
