Description:	The public is invited to attend a celebration of National Vietnam War Veterans Day at 1:00PM on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at Veterans Park located on Ironbound Rd at its juncture with Monticello Avenue. The ceremony is co-sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 957, James City County, and the Virginia Department of Veteran Services First observed in 2012 as a one-time event, National Vietnam War Veterans Day was designated an annual event by the Vietnam War Recognition Act of 2017 Our guest speaker for this year’s ceremony will be Lt Gen Rip Van Riper (USMC Retired). He will be presented by JCC Board of Supervisor Member Jim Icenhour, who is also a Vietnam Veteran. Veterans will be presented with Congressional Certificates of Recognition as well as Vietnam Veteran 50 Year Anniversary Lapel Pins To ensure advance preparation of the Certificates, we ask that Vietnam era Vets who plan to attend notify Tom Monahan, President of VVA Chapter 957 either by email (ELMSeabee@aol.com) or by text to (757) 293-8892. The Deadline for certificates is “close of business” on Friday, March 25th We hope you will come help us recognize the service of our Vietnam Veterans and give them the Welcome Home they were denied so long ago.
