We are hosting a lapel pinning ceremony at the State Capitol. Last year, we held a fairly small ceremony for Vietnam Veterans Day and a large one on Korean War Veterans Day (it was the 65th anniversary). Over 300 people (veterans and family members) attended the Korean War ceremony, and we plan to make this year's Vietnam ceremony as big as that one was. We also anticipate a larger number of veterans simply due to the fact that there are many more Vietnam veterans than Korean War veterans alive today. The governor will speak along with our director of veterans' affairs and then veterans will be pinned and family members will receive their pins.
