Event: Vietnam War Living History Displays and Sky Soldiers Huey Helicopter
When: July 30-31 2011 (9 AM to 3 PM daily)
Where: Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport, Williamsburg, Virginia
Why: The (US Army) Transportation Corps Aviation Association is hosting this 2nd Annual event as a tribute to all US and allied forces in the Vietnam War. The public is invited to visit a large educational display area featuring
uniformed personnel presenting "living history" with authentic Vietnam War era military vehicles, weapons and equipment. The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation is planning to bring in two UH-1 "Huey" helicopters to give short rides to visitors (donation $50 for civilians, $40 for current military and veterans). Food concessions on site and additional military aircraft static displays are anticipated. Warbird fly-in encouraged. There is no charge to the public for attendance and free parking is facilitated by local Civil Air Patrol cadets. The airport is close to many historical and entertainment attractions including colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Victory Center, Williamsburg Winery, and Busch Gardens.
