The Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum preserves the history of the former Atterbury Army Air Field later named Bakalar Air Force Base, now the Columbus, Indiana Municipal Airport. The museum history includes the time period of WWII, Korean War, Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. The Betty H. Carter Women Veterans Historical Project (WVHP), established at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 1998, documents the contributions of women in the military and related service organizations since World War I. The collection offers a wide range of source material, including photographs, letters, diaries, scrapbooks, oral histories, military patches and insignia, uniforms, and posters, as well as published works. Through active acquisition and educational outreach the project continues to expand its research collection and to explore the cultural, social, and military changes in American society that were fueled by the gender integration of the armed forces. The WVHP primarily focuses on the twentieth century, with materials pertaining to World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. The collection chiefly documents women veterans, but it also chronicles the contributions of workers in related service organizations such as the Red Cross and special services and civilians in service. It contains more than 500 individual collections which includes 300 oral histories.

The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association (BWNVVA) is a non-profit, 501c3 organization supporting veterans of all wars and providing the general public with educational materials on veterans. Our website at contains one of the largest repositories of documentation relating to the use of herbicides in Southeast Asia, and provides general news updates on veteran issues on our section entitled News and Information of the Day. Our on-line Discussion Board provides additional information of interest to veterans and allows non-Members to access some of our on-line chat topics. We strive to create an atmosphere of a Family through mutual support, with veterans helping veterans, as well as support for wives and widows. We provide timely news articles and reports on veteran topics which you will find in public distribution. The College of Southern Maryland, a designated Commemorative Partner of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, is planning a number of events centering on the Vietnam War, including speakers, panel discussions, seminars, films, and readings concerning the combat experience and its effects on veterans, the children of war, the Vietnamese refugee experience, and the combat experience and its effects on veterans.
This site is dedicated to all the men who served with Co. D, 2/7th Cavalry during the Vietnam War. DD 214 Chronicle is a bimonthly tabloid launched late last year to serve veterans in five counties of northeast Ohio: Cuyahoga (Cleveland,) Summit (Akron,) Lorain, Lake and Medina.
